Vehicles' tariffing
During calculating routes, our service allows you to see not only the mileage but also time and cost. For the correct calculation of costs, it is necessary to specify tariffs for cars. We' ll examine how to configure settings for cars in more detail in this article.
- in the Rate field - the units in which accounting is kept (per km, per hour, per flight, etc.)
- in the Valid from field, the limit from which the tariff starts to operate.
- in the Rate field - the value of the tariff per unit;
- in the Min Cost field - the amount that will be paid if the tariff calculation is less than this amount. If there is no minimum amount, it is necessary to leave value "0" in the field.
Pay attention! Tariffing starts from zero. I.e. to take into account the tariff from the 1st flight, enter the value greater than "0" in the field. Setting up tariffing according to this principle is shown in Example 4 at the end of this article;
If you add several tariffs, they will be summed up and the total cost for the route will be displayed at the end of the calculation.
The total costs for all routes for the day are displayed at the top of the Documents panel, Routes tab. To see the costs for each route separately, choose Table Settings in the directory 1 and select the Documents/Routes line 2 . In the subordinate box, double-click on the Expenses line 3 to open the Editing Record box 4. In the Show field, select the Show value:
After the completed actions, an additional column Expenses will appear in the Routes tab of the Documents panel, in which you can see the expenses for each of the routes separately:
Example 1. Tariffication of vehicles is carried out according to the principle:
- up to 10 km - delivery is free;
- from the 10th km - the cost of delivery is 7 USD / km.
To solve this problem, enter the tariff data into the service:
The service did the calculation according to the specified conditions, calculating the expenses only after the 10th km: (38.52-10)*7=199.64≈200 USD.
Example 2. Tariffication of vehicles is carried out according to the principle:
- up to 10 km - delivery is free;
- from the 10th km - the cost of delivery is 7 USD / km, but not less than 20 USD per trip.
- from the 20th km - the cost of delivery is 5 USD / km.
Enter the tariff data into the service:
The service did the calculation according to the specified conditions, calculating the expenses in this way:
- from the 10th km to the 20th km: 10*7=70 USD;
- from the 20th km: (38.52-20)*5=92.6≈93 USD:
- total cost: 70+93=163 USD.
If the vehicle do shorter route with a mileage of 12.66 km 1, then the expenses will be the minimum cost of the trip 20 USD 2 (due to 2.66*7=18.62<20):
Example 3. Tariffication of vehicles is carried out according to the principle:
- the cost of vehicle delivery (paid once a day) - 100 USD;
- hourly salary - 200 USD / hour;
- one vehicle has only 1 flight per day.
Enter the tariff data into the service:
Pay attention! Such tariff settings are correct only for cases when one vehicle has only 1 flight per day. If one vehicle can have several trips per day, and you do not need to pay for each trip, then you need to configure the tariffing according to Example 4.
After building the route, we can see the mileage of the vehicle is 42.58 km 1, the expenses are 403 2 and the duration is 1 hour 31 m 3:
The service did the calculation according to the specified conditions, calculating the expenses in this way:
- basic fee - 100 USD;
- hourly salary - 91 * 200 / 60 = 303.33≈303 USD, where 91 minutes - the duration of the flight, 200 USD - the cost per hour of the vehicle (1 hour = 60 minutes);
- total cost: 100+303=403 USD.
Example 4. Tariffication of vehicles is carried out according to the principle:
- basic fee (paid once a day) - 100 USD;
- hourly salary - 200 USD / hour;
- vehicles can have several trips per day.
Enter the tariff data into the service:
- hourly salary - (34+44+38+47)*200/60=543.33≈543 USD
- basic fee for the 1st flight is USD 100;
- basic fee for the 2nd or more flight is 0 USD.
- total cost: 543+100+0=643 USD.
Example 5. It is necessary to determine the most profitable route.
It is necessary to determine the most profitable route for the delivery of 9 tons of crushed stone to the TPT1 point from one of three quarries (warehouses) KP1, KP2, KP3 to choose from. Quarries are located at different distances from the delivery point. Tariffs for the delivery of crushed stone for each of the quarries are different:
- From the KP1 quarry, crushed stone is delivered by the KP1 Dump truck with a carrying capacity of 20 tons. The delivery tariff for delivery is USD 2 per ton / km;
- From the KP2 quarry, the crushed stone is delivered by the KP2 Dump truck with a carrying capacity of 10 tons. The delivery tariff for delivery is USD 1.6 per ton / km;
- From the KP3 quarry, crushed stone is delivered by the KP3 Dump truck with a carrying capacity of 10 tons. The delivery tariff is USD 1.8 per ton / km.
Enter the data for the KP1 Dump Truck into the service. In the Vehicles directory, in the Route Template tab, enter the starting point of the route - warehouse KP1:
In the Rate tab, enter the tariff data for the vehicle:
Similarly, enter data for the rest of the vehicles, linking them to certain quarries (warehouses) and indicating delivery tariffs. Then go to Service, Settings 1, tab Accounting 2. In the Calculation Model 3 field, select Recalculation per money:
Then the service calculates the expenses of delivery, taking into account mileage, weight of goods and tariffs for vehicles, and issues the most cost-effective route. In our example, this is the delivery of crushed stone from the quarry КР2.
Pay attention! If in the Calculation model field (Service,Settings, Accounting tab) select Recalculation per km, then the service will offer the shortest, albeit more costly route - the delivery of crushed stone from the quarry KP1:
The use of tariffs for vehicles makes it possible to use the ANT-Logistics service not only for organizing logistics - since the service automates the process of finding the most profitable option for the delivery of goods, it will become an excellent assistant for sales managers. It should also be noted that entering tariffs for cars allows you to further calculate profitability and cost. Detailed instructions on these calculations can be found in the articles How not to fall into the "minus"? - Monitoring the cost-effectiveness of routes and Optimal routing - distribution.
If you are interested in the described functionality, we are ready to demonstrate its operation, do the necessary settings and provide access to the service. To do this, leave a request on the ANT-Logistics website.
